One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975) – 4.5/5

Brilliant. A masterpiece. Jack Nicholson is great in this. Heck, everyone is great. The story is simple, yet deep and full of mystery. It’s also frequently hilarious, which is something I wasn’t expecting.

The ending was a bit disappointing, though, but only because it completely diverged from a character we had followed throughout the film. It’s also quite sad, and unexpected.

But it is truly one of the best films from this “era” that I’ve yet seen. Definitely worth the hype. Every scene is a little story in of itself, with a beginning, a middle, and an end. And it’s all so well crafted, and entertaining. Simply brilliant. A must watch.
